The Vertigo Handicap Questionnaire is a 25-item self-report tool that assesses the psychosocial consequences of vertigo, including restriction of physical and social activities and anxiety related to fear of vertigo attacks. Each item is scored 0–4 according to how often the difficulty is experienced; some items are reverse-scored, and a higher score indicates greater handicap. The Turkish version was studied in 32 patients with vertigo and 30 healthy volunteers; internal consistency was high (Cronbach's α = 0.90) and patients scored significantly higher than controls.
