The LEESPQ is a parent-report questionnaire that assesses pre-verbal speech production development in infants from birth to 18 months. It consists of 22 yes/no questions, some with sub-questions that do not count toward the total score. The total score can be interpreted as the child's developmental age for speech production. The Turkish version established expected and minimum scores for each monthly age interval from 222 hearing infants, with high internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.94).
Early speech production: reflexive sounds, pre-canonical and canonical vocalisations, post-canonical advanced forms and first words
Infants aged 0–18 months; Turkish norms were obtained from infants with typical hearing. It can also be used to monitor speech development in children using hearing aids or cochlear implants.
